Local Break exists to lift up San Clemente — its people, its small businesses, its culture, and its coastline. To keep our community safe, trusted, and authentic, the following items and services cannot be posted, listed, or promoted on Local Break.
Illegal or Regulated Goods
- Illegal drugs and paraphernalia — substances, accessories, or services that facilitate drug use.
- Prescription-only items — medications, medical devices requiring a prescription, or contact lenses.
- Weapons and explosives — firearms, ammunition, tactical knives, fireworks, or explosive materials.
- Stolen property — items with altered or removed serial numbers.
Adult or Sexual Content
- Adult services — escorting, sexual services, or sexually explicit offerings.
- Pornographic, obscene, or explicit material of any kind.
Dangerous, Unsafe, or Harmful Items
- Hazardous materials — toxic chemicals, unsafe goods, or recalled products.
- Live animals — including breeding services, sales, or adoption fees.
- Unapproved health treatments — supplements or services claiming medical cures without regulatory approval.
Fraudulent, Deceptive, or Financially Sensitive Items
- Counterfeit goods — replicas, knockoffs, or fake branded merchandise.
- Fake or altered documents — IDs, passports, licenses, certificates.
- Gambling, lottery, or raffle products.
- Cash equivalents — prepaid cards, gift cards, or items designed to bypass payment systems.
Hate, Abuse, or Harassment
- Hate or discriminatory content — anything targeting protected groups.
- Violent, abusive, or threatening content.
Services That Violate Community Standards
- Unlicensed professional services — medical, legal, or financial services requiring certification.
- Licensed-trade services offered without the proper license — for example tattooing, body modification, or extreme sports instruction. Licensed professionals in these trades are welcome.
- Any service or listing that compromises community safety, trust, or wellbeing.
How We Enforce This
We may remove any deal, listing, or business account that breaches this policy, at our discretion and without notice. Depending on the circumstances we may remove the individual listing, suspend the business account, or close it permanently. Where a business has paid for anything, our Refund Policy applies.
This policy sits alongside our Terms of Use and Business Agreement, and forms part of the agreement every business accepts when joining Local Break.
Our Commitment
Local Break is built to protect the soul of San Clemente — the small-town feel, the local pride, the surf culture, and the businesses that make this place home. If it is illegal, unsafe, sexual, deceptive, or harmful to the community, it does not belong here.
